Did he not accurately predict an upset for CODA winning Best Picture last year? I don't recall that being a foregone conclusion.

This same person keeping tally of the anonymous Oscar ballots also did it in 2020 and 2021. I put up the links so you guys can compare.

So generally based on what I can gather on these previous two occasions, the areas where anonymous Oscar ballots turn out right usually are what was generally expected. The anonymous Oscar ballots do not predict major upsets accurately as is the case of Penelope Cruz winning Best Actress and The Worst Person in the World winning Best Original Screenplay. The only time it accurately predicted a possible major upset was Anthony Hopkins winning over Chadwick Boseman.

Maybe add a question mark to the end: Shockers Brewing?

It’s thoughtful of you to give us hope that there may be shockers.

They're still brewing though nothing may come of them.

Maybe "Shockers Brewing" should be erased?

The totals are a little disheartening in that they still point to the herd mentality of the moment.

The Jaeger twins, Cole and Justin aka The Oscar Expert and Brother Bro, are out with their final predictions which do the same.

For those of you who don't want to have to read too many articles on anonymous Oscar ballots, here's a Google doc keeping a running tally of everything so you can get a glimpse of what a handful of voters are leaning towards.

Some combination of that, plus the idea that anyone who puts his/her votes out there is looking for attention, and knows outrageous is the fastest route to that.

Oscar Voters Ballots - Shockers Brewing?

Post by Big Magilla »

Calling all skeptics.

Please read the below article containing seven Oscar voter submissions from Variety's Clayton Davis, one of the staunchest EEAAO supporters. There is no major consensus. These are all over the place.
