I think even in a year like this, he'll need Riz Ahmed to be a done deal for a nomination at the very least. I agree that he deserves a nomination though! It's a lovely supporting performance especially in his last scene.

The Paul Raci performance is exactly the kind of solid supporting work that almost never gets recognized, so maybe in an odd year like this he'll manage a nomination.

Well, Nomadland had a solid day with three wins for Picture, Director, and Cinematography. Boston isn't a terrible prognosticator for forecasting Best Picture. 3/10 winners from the last decade went onto win (The Artist, 12 Years a Slave, and Spotlight).

It's hard to really think of what else to say about these winners to be honest. I'm mostly happy for Sidney Flanigan as well as Julia Garner, both of whom represent a pretty terrific and important double feature.
