I had the same experience with The Thin Red Line, and it was the passion for the film by a handful of people on this board that got me to watch it a second time, upon which I saw it as a masterpiece. So thank you Johnny Guitar, DWS, Italiano, et al.

I've lurked around the place since the 99 Oscars or so... only really started posting around four years ago.

I've posted occasionally on and off since 97. Do you guys remember Alex Fung? I wonder what happened to him?

Thanks. I found it by accident while perusing a website for director tees. I thought it was hilarious.

I remember some very heated discussions over The Thin Red Line, but I don't recall them as related to the Golden Globes.

I don't think there's been a year since where we've disagreed as much as we did that one. In fact some of us are still arguing about it. :;):

That doesn't sound like something I would come up with.
I'm pretty sure. Could have been someone else, I guess. I remember very heated exchanges that evening, though I don't remember over what. Funny how that goes.

I started posting in 2000, after the '99 discussions had died down, but I don't think I really started posting regularly until 2004 or later. I honestly can't even remember why I chose my name -- I think I needed to create a name to post so I just chose something random, not thinking I would still be here eight years later. I know I added 'The Original' when the new board wouldn't let me register as just 'BJ.' I've thought about changing my name to something else that actually means something, but at this point I'm not sure what the purpose would be. It's just a label anyway.

Here's to many more years.

I believe I started lurking around early 1999, before the Oscars. I only started posting until after the Oscars. I was relatively new to posting in message boards at the time and I was a little scared so I picked the name 'anonymous' because I wanted to remain, well, anonymous. Haha. The name stuck. I believe this is the very first message board I've ever regularly posted. :)

Started in early '99 before the Oscars. As Sabin. Continued onward. As Sabin.

Okay, I joined the Board in December of 2000. My first post was proclaiming that Gladiator would sweep the NBR - scary what crap you remember.

I've always be something of a fly-on-the-wall on the Board. My name, Jack, is, well, my name. My first name is Jonathan and middle name is Robert, so, by tradition, being a J.R., we get called Jack.

And I agree with Hustler. There has been a fantastic unity within our dynamic that hopefully wont stop any time soon...

Guys, I don´t know where to post this comment especifically, so, I´ve decided to post it here. I love this board right now, I love the way it became. I think we´ll share good times from now on. I can feel the serenity flying around here.

Yes, ''Faye Dunaway''.

Why does ''camp'' have to be the sole property of the gay world???

It's nice to share!
