"From the visionary director of 300"

I'm still not convinced. I liked the comic book, so I really hope the film will be good, but at this moment, I don't think that this will be the case.

After watching the trailer in HD it looks as though it's going to very good film. We can only hope that now The Dark Knight has been made that comic-book adaptations will be grittier and darker in tone.

Here's the trailer... it's not bad. I'm willing to give this picture the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

It makes sense, superheroes evolve in style just like any other human being. Bikini bottoms and felt caps were heroic back in the day.

It's cheesy in the comic book version, and works perfectly there. But I have trouble seeing such cheesiness being effective on the big screen. I'm not so sure it's sensible to be so slavishly faithful to source material in this case.

It looks horribly cheesy, imo.

New picture, this time of the 1940s Minutemen. It actually looks good. I'm just hoping the movie is actually as good as the screenshots...

V for Vendetta was probably the closest in terms of quality we are likely ever to get to a Best Picture nomination for these types of films.

Remember when we were discussing this as potentially the first graphic novel-based Best Picture nominee? Sigh...

There have already been sequels of such, this is just a revamped reboot of a remake.

It'll be a one-time popcorn flick full of eye-candy.

The pictures aren't bad. But the film almost certainly will be.
