This live performance show was noticably worse than last week, with several really bad acts.

Here's my preference list:

1) Voices Of Glory (singing group; amazing harmonizing)

2) SQ Entertainment (dancing group; quite imaginative stunts)

3) Paradizo Dance (athletic dancers; some very difficult moves)

4) Charles DeWayne (singer, pianist; great voice)

5) The Texas Tenors (singing group; strong voices doing a song I don't like -- "I'm Proud To Be An American")

6) Carol Loo (dancer; a lot of enrgy)

7) Fab Five (dancers; good, but no big moves)

8] Beale Street Flippers (flippers; energetic, but not quite imaginative enough)

9) Pete Peterkin (impersonator; looks more like Obama than he sounds like him)

10) Tony Hoard And Rory (dog act; missed several frisbies)

11) Alizma (violinists, singers; sang off key and hardly did any violin playing before being buzzed by the judges to stop)

12) Eleisha Miller (singer, dancer; was way off key, apparently was advanced by the judges just because she was a funny 9 year old)

The five who are going on to the next round are very close to my choices: Drew Thomas Magic, Kevin Skinner, Arcadian Broad, Acrodunk, and Grandma Lee.

Previous AGT winner Terry Fator performed; and, I must say he is the best ventriloquist I've ever seen.

They are starting the live performances of the acts that got through the auditions.

Here's my preference list of how they did:

1) Drew Thomas Magic (magician)

2) Kevin Skinner (singer, guitarist)

3) Lake Houston Dance (dance group)

4) Arcadian Broad (dancer, pianist)

5) Acrodunk (acrobatic basketball players)

6) Grandma Lee (standup comic)

7) Thia Magia (singer)

8] The Platt Brothers (acrobatic dancers)

9) BreakS8 (skating breakdancers)

10) Mosaic (singing group)

11) The Diva League (drag queen dancers)

12) Manuela Horn (the only really bad act, a supposed yodelling dominatrix who didn't get to do any dominating and only got off one yodel before the judges buzzed to end her act)

Week 6, day 2 is the first day of eliminations for the contestants that made it through the auditions. The big surprise was that singer Kari Callen, who received a standing ovation form all three judges at her audition, did not go through. What was very odd was that a whole group of acts were eliminated as soon as they were flown into Las Vegas.

Week 2, day 1 provided two performances that did a good job smashing age stereotypes about performing.

A 62-year-old dancer:

And a 14-year-old girl singing a Jennifer Holliday song.
