Jeff Bridges is everywhere these days. He must really want that Oscar badly. He's becoming as overexposed as Mickey Rourke was last year. It's time to give it a rest and let the voters do their work.

On the one hand it's nice to see him finally acknowledged after all these years, even if Crazy Heart is not his best work. On the other hand, it's sad seeing him go through the same motions over and over.

He's said that it's been harder work promoting the film that it was making it, but he's been basically saying the same things since last November - he initially passed on the film because it didn't have any songs in it; he agreed to do it when his good friend T-Bone Burnett was asked to provide the music; he's bveen acting since his father took him out of school to play a small part in Sea Hunt when he was 8; he love his wife more now than when he met her 35 years ago.

It's standard practice for interviewers to be given a set of questions to ask stars promoting their films, but one would think someone as seasoned as Bridges would be able to deal with a variation in prepared questions just a tad.

On the View the other day, he was his charming self answering the prepared stuff, but was like a deer caught in the headlights when Barbara Walters out of the blue asked him a simple question like what he was going to do for his wife for Valentine's Day. He mumbled he'd do something but that the question wasn't part of the q & a.

And what's with the Buffalo Bill look? Is it in preparation for the Coen Brothers remake of True Grit? Put Rooster Cogburn's trademark eye patch on top of that and it seems like it would be a bit much, but we'll see. We'll see.

I can certainly understand the presence of Barbara Streisand, Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Hudson as they are also singers, but what the hell is Jeff Bridges doing there?
