I chose Cuba Gooding, Jr. as well. There is just no way that his showy "look at me!" performance in Jerry Maguire topped Edward Norton's mesmorizing character study in "Primal Fear" which was a banner year for him, by the way.

I have to admit, though, that Robin Williams' win has always bothered me. His bearded, moribund portrayal was just totally underwhelming to me. I would've gone with Greg Kinnear that year in a performance that I personally love.

Well, if we could call it an 8-way race I would be happy...
The only two that I think are even very good are Pesci and Landau.
Kline was alright too, I suppose. But his was a very weak year.
I picked Gooding, how embarrassing.

Which of these Best Supporting Actor winners gave the least impressive performance?

I went with Palance. He wasn't bad, per se, but hardly made an award-worthy impression.
