Best Picture: 2004
Million Dollar Baby.
Ray is an average made for cable biopic, and Sideways has some good elements but parts of it ring false, and I can't stand the character of Miles. All I want is to punch him in the face. The Aviator is at best a cinematic Spruce Goose of itself--someone blowing a huge budget on something that only flies for a short while, when something smaller and less bloated would've made more sense. At worst, it's a three hour lecture on the producer as auteur. Never bothered to watch more than a few scenes of Finding Neverland--in my quest to see all of the Best Picture nominees, this is probably one that I'll put off the longest.
