So… first BP winner to win three acting awards.Reza wrote:For the record A Streetcar Named Desire was the first to win 3 acting awards.HarryGoldfarb wrote:OscarGuy wrote:First film to win 7 or more Oscars since Gravity in 2013, first Best Picture winner to take more than 4 Oscars since The Artist in 2011, first Best Picture winner to take more than 5 Oscars since The Hurt Locker in 2009, and first to win more than 6 since Slumdog Millionaire in 2008.
And, obviously, first film (and only third ever) to win three acting awards since Network.
Huge gaps between these films - 25 years between Streetcar and Network. And 47 years between Network and Everything.

An excessive number of standing ovations which seemed creepy to me.
Made me think of the kids on Valentine's Day who didn't get a lot, if any, cards from the others in school.

Tenth film ever to win DGA, PGA & SAG and the ninth to carry that win over to Best Picture at the Oscar (Apollo 13 was the only film to win all three without Best Picture).

Never. Everything, Everywhere All At Once is the first. Three films managed five: It Happened One Night, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Silence of the Lambs.Sonic Youth wrote:When was the last time a film won six Oscars in the above-the-line categories? Not quite. Back in 2013, only 4 films out of 9 nominees won something.danfrank wrote:If I counted correctly there were 5 Best Picture nominees that were completely shut out. Is that a record?

Almost everything I wanted to see win lost tonight. But it was mostly a very enjoyable show. A huge improvement over the last couple of years, although it did have its considerable low points.
And India didn't do too shabbily either.

EEAaO is headed to become the first film this millennium to win Picture, directing, writing, acting, and a craft award.

The opposite happened, so EEAAO is back in the driver’s seat.danfrank wrote:If All Quiet wins In adapted screenplay and EEAAO loses original, we may have a real race.
