I also agree that Jolie's 4th. Knightley has a strong chance to best Blanchett for 5th.

It looks like Gangster may take that blockbuster slot for BP after all, though, but Denzel & Ridley Scott have both gone down in flames.

Cool! Sonic, it's kinda surprising that they passed over Angelina, a star they adore. Then again, has Julie C ever won a Golden Globe before?

When do we get the winners of the contest? Heck, just noticed that this is my 500th post here! I'm officially an Icon.

The Coens look to be the first directing team to win an Oscar since West Side Story. Cotillard's chances have beefed up, but unless she wins the SAG I still say Christie has it. And I honestly don't see voters crowning Atonement best pic. This GG win will wind up as just a grand save-face act IMO.

The completely unspectacular Best Actress race this year makes me wish that Debra Winger, Michelle Pfeffier or even Annette Bening were up to finally get their due. As of now I think Christie will get her second trophy, because Page hasn't won enough of the major critc awards to overcome the uphil ...

I haven't seen 'Wild' yet, but I still support the notion that Catharine may pose a serious threat to Ryan & Blanchett next month. She just seems like the kind of steadily working actress her peers would love and if her film lands a BP nom, which isn't out of the question, she could be the surp...

Well Jamie Fox did not do his own singing and I thought Cotillard portrayed Piaf alot better than he did with Ray Charles and this is an award for acting not singing, they gave an award to an american idol contestant last year for singing how about rewarding acting. Christie is in the same situatio...

Ridley Scott's snub at the DGA nods, severely hurt 'Gangster's' chances for the "popular" slot, but methinks Hairspray can still make it in. It's got a large fanbase, the B.O. numbers, and low-brow as it may be it still is an all around happy film that voters can respond to. Did Cotillard...

I don't understand the Zodiac love either. It just seems like one of those typically graphic thrillers that does decently. No mention for American Gangster?

Wes, let's not forget that Sophia Loren was an American star when she won--not so for Cotillard. If this was say Catharine Deneuve, Julie Delpy, or even Audrey Tatou then I'd be more inclined to give her the edge, but I think for a a foreign actress of Cotillard's caliber to pull this off her film ...

I will say that Julie Christie would be the type of veteran actress that the Academy wouldn't mind awarding a second Oscar to, but is it just me or is there a genuine chance that she'll get upset this year? The surprising box office of Juno gives Page a valuable edge, but I still think the unknown ...

Well my "glamour girl/hot babe" theory ran outta steam last year with Helen, but you can't tell me that sexiness isn't a factor when it comes to Best Actress these days. I mean really, who wants to vote every year for a girl you wouldn't wanna fuck? And even Sabin wanted to fuck Helen las...

With that said, I have the strange feeling a last minute surge of support for Angelina Jolie may help take down critic fave Julie Christie. Angelina not only has the advantage of having her film already out on DVD(which helps explain her SAG nod), This comment makes no sense. Julie's movie is also ...

But is it really? Until you mentioned her working on the stage, I had no idea. Really, the media doesn't seem to give two licks about her. She's earned very little press and while those who have worked in theatre may find that irresistable, there's a large part of the Academy that doesn't care if y...
