Re: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood reviews

Aside from the fact that I loved it, has anyone noticed Brenda Vaccaro as Pacino’s wife? She’s credited and I don’t remember her at all in the film.

This is a very interesting take on Roma by philosopher Slavoj Žižek.

Re: Last Seen Movie - The Latest Movie You Have Seen; ratings

Volver a empezar / Begin the Beguine / To Begin Again (José Luis Garci, 1982) 5/10 Warm bittersweet memory piece is a bore and still managed to win the Oscar for best foreign film (Spain's first). An old man (Antonio Ferrandis) returns to his old hometown Gijon after going into exile during the Spa...

She was classy, elegant and subtle. Her performances in Chabrol’s The Butcher and Babette’s Feast are two for the ages.

Re: Oscar Family Photo?

Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty are presumably presenting Best Picture again. I have a feeling they will somehow comedically "atone" for last year before they present. Indeed. This will be extremely exciting. Remember when in past recent ceremonies the Best Picture envelope was about to be...

Re: Oscar Family Photo?

It would be so nice if Jack Nicholson appeared again. His last showing up was when he and Michelle Obama gave Best Picture to Argo back in 2013. I love him presenting at the Oscars. What about Olivia de Havilland? The oldest living legend. Julie Andrews, Sidney Poitier, Glenda Jackson!, Cloris Leach...

Re: It's Trivia Time

Every year Frances McDormand was nominated or won, upsets or shockers occurred.

1988: Kevin Kline, Geena Davis, even Jodie Foster.
1996: Juliette Binoche, Sling Blade.
2000: Steven Soderbergh, Marcia Gay Harden.
2005: Crash

Let’s hope for some more of those on Sunday.

Re: Your Oscar Ballot - Best Film

Beautiful year for films. This is my favorite Best Picture lineup since 1975. Deeply loved my top choice. Second is a great film. Three to six are truly exhilarating, unforgettable cinematic experiences in their own distinctive ways. Seven and eight are perfectly solid craft, and the last one is not...

Thank you, Uri, I’ll try to find it.
