Re: Oscar Ceremony
Just finished looking at 188 Oscar photos on IMDB.com from the red carpet, backstage, and post-show parties.
I have no idea who 75% of these celebrities are and I'm not that old.
In 1984 when I was a teen I would not have been this clueless.

Re: Best Picture
It would've been funnier for Pacino to present the award with Danny De Vito - then they could've set up a joke about "saying hello to my little friend."

Re: Oscar Ceremony
I haven't watched the Oscars in its entirety live in maybe 10 years but tonight I joined about 600 others at a local theater and watched...and enjoyed it! I thought it was well paced and Kimmel did a fine job. He doesn't overpower the event like Billy Crystal or Bob Hope used to and I like that. A s...

Re: Brutally Honest Ballots
I seem to recall a few years back, a sleuthing poster was convinced that one of the voting participants from the Actors' branch was actress Lee Grant based on the quotes given.

Re: Ceremony Details
If the goal is to bring out the old stars for glamour why not shit-can the Governors Awards and hand them out during the regular ceremony - ok, maybe not four honoraries but at least one or two. Oh well, I'm just waiting to read/hear that Harry and Meghan will be presenting Best Picture in which cas...

Re: Ceremony Details
You’d think that being an Oscar nominee is a reward that doesn’t require further ego stroking. But no – the nominees now need an elder chorus to tell them how truly great they are.

Re: 95th Oscars General Ceremony Discussion
I want to say that a mid-March Oscar show is just right in terms of timing. I felt the pace of this awards season was good – not rushed or interminable. I had time to see all the pictures that got nominated – important when there are 10 best pics. AMPAS voters aren’t rushed to make quick judgments w...

Re: Notable Firsts and Records
When looking for notable firsts I discovered this which I think is cool: Acting Oscars were won by Marlon Brando (1954), Jack Lemmon (1955) and Ingrid Bergman (1956). The same sequence was repeated by Marlon Brando (1972), Jack Lemmon (1973) and Ingrid Bergman (1974). And the years themselves share ...

EEAAO was released in March 2022 which must be one of the earliest calendar releases for a Best Picture winner since Silence of the Lambs?
