With Oldman, Deakins and Ivory winning their first Oscars, the "overdue" veterans were well represented today.

This doesn't help Three Billboards's chances, that's for sure.

Besides Best Picture, this was the category I was most anticipating to see. I'm delighted to see Ivory win it. Never say it's too late.

Icarus is certainly not a great film, and this award very rarely goes to sports films, but it is topical, and the filmmaker is not merely a passive observer but an active participant in the events, so it's not surprising that it won.

Glad to see Rockwell win this. He's a very lively actor who has been around for a while but who has rarely gotten good parts.
