Robert Duvall- The Apostle. I absolutely hate Nicholson's win, there was no need to give him another Oscar for such an average performance

Easily Denzel Washington- Malcolm X. Im glad Rea has gathered some votes though, easily the best performance and the best thing about the overrated Crying Game, it always baffled me that Davidson got so much praise for the film for what is essentially a gimmick

Anthony Hopkins- The Silence of the Lambs. I generally think this is an overrated performance, but I much preferred hi to the other nominees. I think Hopkins did much superior work in The Remains of the Day
