There. The message of An Education is one of two things: 1) trust the faceless uncaring institution to lead to whatever vague opportunities promised/threatened by the sour-faced marms leading you along, or 2) don't trust Jews. I'm exaggerating the latter of course but An Education does such a far m...

(Sorry guys, what have you done in this category? (Polansky and Daldry out?)

Hey, Esther Kahn is better than The Pianist and Talk to Her. No idea why you're bemoaning the exclusion of Stephen Daldry.

Copy that. I had to think very hard about my choice. I think Polanski and Almodovar are two of the best nominees this decade, but my viewing of Esther Kahn knocked me on my ass. I was going to replace Julianne Moore for The Hours with Ronit Elkabetz for Late Marriage or Isabelle Huppert for 8 Women...

They complain about Meryl Streep's accents, but no one has more annoying accents up her sleeve than Moore, especially in tandem with Todd Haynes.

I don't like Meryl Streep's menopausal bitch accent in The Hours.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is illustrated in the dictionary next to "putrid"

Ha! No it's not! I just checked and you're wrong! There is nothing illustrated in the dictionary next to putrid.

I say it's the best film of the decade.

I really hope this movie is good. I know this is kind of a tangent but I'm very interested in how history will judge the renaissance of "New Disney Classics" beginning in '89 and continuing onward. When The Little Mermaid came out, a lot of discussion began because of the alleged two year...

Film The TONY top 50 movies of the decade We count down the movies that mattered. Who knows what to call them: the Aughts, the Naughts, the “Double-Os.” Actually, we prefer the Uh-Ohs, given the movies these ten years have produced. Looking back, we found mastery and mirth—but mainly a lot of pain....

My surprise at his not getting through with a nod this year is that he was passed over when even his lackluster effort on Sicko got a nod. I'm not trying to be dick-ish to you immediately upon your return -- good to see you, all that -- but Sicko is my favorite Michael Moore film. I know it's not r...
