Maybe this was covered elsewhere, and I haven't looked too much into it as of yet...but I see everyone is talking about the Coen brothers this year for director...correct me if I'm wrong but isn't almost exclusively Joel as the director, what would have changed for this one instance do you think?

I believe it felt classy and viable for this particular film because it all melded and was cohesive to aid in a vision by a fine director, the extensive sex scenes were not nearly as gratuitous as I'm sure most are that are eventually cut to receive the R rating. and in the film world we live in wh...

I hate the fact that trailers nowdays give the entire plot of the movie away. I couldn't agree more with that...it borders on ridiculous now where I try to avoid the trailer for any movie that I am interested in that stands alone as a film, I guess one would not necessarily need to avoid the Atonem...

She's good, I agree with that statement...whether or not the performance will translate to mass amounts of critics awards or notices is another story. Seems to me more of a Golden Globe nod type role, or to acknowledge the seemingly great respect for the film and Ben Affleck's admirable directorial...

I just saw the trailer for Infamous and it sure looks like they blew it last year or at the very least it should get all the nominations that Capote did assuming there aren't several movies that are better. It will really be a shame if Toby Jones is as good as it appears and gets completely ignored...

it's a tough call, and my jerk reaction was to vote for A Beautiful Mind and did, but much much more offensive was Ron Howard's victory over Altman (and Lynch for that matter), so maybe that's what makes Gladiator a tick more acceptable?

cleared up.....I'm sorry I was dense there my vote went to Capote simply because of what is happening recently...adored Hoffman and even Keener, Collins, and Cooper were all very good, but it looks like it's a shoe-in for every category out there now...and I'd have to say that Hoffman (despite &quo...

All I need back is my $2.50 to rent the Dog(poop)ville because it put me into a sound sleep- makes me a tad luckier than Magilla as I only lost the money and not the time, sleep is quite valuable.

Similar to Sabin, I apologize that I lack the presence of anything non-American in the 90s....trying to fix that! 1. American Beauty (Sam Mendes) 2. Fargo (Joel Coen) 3. The Matrix (Wachowski brothers) 4. Goodfellas (Martin Scorsese) 5. Fight Club (David Fincher) 6. L.A. Confidential (Curtis Hanson)...
