Meanwhile, today took place the Iowa county conventions and without anyone realizing it Obama gained nine more delegates, while Hillary lost one. He gained bigger the she did with her win in Ohio. As Chuck Todd mentioned, Clinton's strategy of trashing caucus states is already working wonders. And ...

Since the polls show him competitive at North Carolina, Texas, Colorado and North Dakota, to mention a few, then why should he not? At least this time money will be no problem for the Democratic candidate. This could be a realigning election. Just because the two last ones were decided at Florida a...

Thank you so much Mister Tee. That was a fascinating recollection of the 1992 primaries. I must tell you that after you mentioned it I looked for the ''Keys to the Presidency'' and I am quite familiar with them by now. I agree with you that unless a miraculous economic recovery happens the next mon...

I have to disagree with your parenthetical statement, kaytodd. Whatever the feeling right now in the heat of campaigning, either Democrat is likely to win the election this Fall, given the incumbent administration's hideous approvals, the ongoing unpopularity of Iraq, and the recession that's only ...

Unfortunately Damien has made a habit of offending every performer who isn't to his taste. Last year it was Abigail Breslin who was abused constantly. This year his victim is Marion Cotillard. Saying that you didn't like a performance and that it was not worthy of recognition is one thing. But spew...

Well, this guy thinks that the NY Times story about the lobbyists is just the tip of the iceberg and more damaging details are about to surface. If that is indeed true then perhaps the republican establishment will have no qualms to ask McCain to step aside. After all, he wasn't their first choice ...

From TPM Cafe How Obama Won By M.J. Rosenberg - February 21, 2008, 7:34AM It's pretty clear that, barring accident, Barack Obama will be the Democratic nominee. My own opinion is that his Republican opponent will NOT be John McCain so I am not handicapping the general yet. But it looks clear that w...

I think Chuck Todd said it best about Obama's charisma:

''Obama is coated in the same Teflon Reagan and Bill Clinton soaked in during their campaigns''.

There is a strong scent of desperation coming from Clinton's campaign. I am hearing on CNN that she is planning to spend the next three weeks crisscrossing Texas until its March 4 primary. So she is just going to cede Wisconsin and any other contest between now and March 4? She is planning to have ...

Well, the Republicans really ''love'' McCain and they didn't miss the chance to show it, even now that he is the presumptive nominee. Huckabee trounced him at Kansas, defeated him at Louisiana and made him sweat at Washington state. Regarding the last contest, I think TPM puts it best: when 74% of ...

Actually, the inexplicable loathing of Hillary Clinton by many Republicans is enough to rev up people in the party to come out and vote for McCain even if they don't much like him. Just another reason to vote for Obama in the primaries.

Ann Coulter and Pat Buchanan seem to disagree with you.

Awfully quiet this thread, considering that in three days you guys have the equivalent of a national primary. Anyway. There is an interesting comment I found at the National Review: ''The Clintons are nothing if not lucky, and Hillary must occasionally be enjoying a luxury-length cackle at the thou...

The following comment from TPM describes precisely in my opinion the split that many Democrats feel towards their two potential candidates. At the end of the day you must answer to the question of what matters most to you: play nice and lose or play not so nice and win? ''I submit that your mixed f...
