Re: The Brett Ratner Flap
Look on the bright side. When Crystal does his inevitable song-and-dance routine introducing the Best Picture nominees, at least there will footage for a YouTube remix with accompaning archival footage of war planes dropping bombs on crop fields. If we get 10 nominees for Best Picture, Billy may dr...

Re: The Brett Ratner Flap
Another reason for Eddie to be pissed at the Academy.
1) Scolding the Academy when presenting the Best Picture Oscar in 1988 (?) for lack of African-American winners.
2) Fleeing the show with wife in first 30 minutes after losing Best Supporting Actor to Alan Arkin.
3) Ratner mess

Re: The Brett Ratner Flap
I was somewhat concerned that Ratner would "hip-hopify" the Oscars in the neverending pursuit to appeal to the twentysomething dimwit demographic.

Re: The Brett Ratner Flap
Anyone know if the Globes have announced a host for the January 2012 show?
Hope it's Ricky Gervais but I doubt it.

Re: Hepburn Trivia
I'll also add this one to fill my "two" quota, though I'm not sure it's a direct working relationship.
Cecil Beaton worked on My Fair Lady and Kate Hepburn's Coco on Broadway in 1969.
There is one more that I can think of. If nobody gets it by Friday, I'll post it.

Hepburn Trivia
Question: "What was it like working with Miss Hepburn?" Answer: "Which one? - Kate or Audrey - I've worked with them both?" List the people who could reply to this question with this question. Also, give the circumstances. For Example: Henry Fonda - worked with KH in On Golden P...

Re: Zsa Zsa Gabor hospitalized
Hasn't this been the standard cycle for Zsa Zsa every three months for the last few years...lose consciousness, rush to hospital, near-death vigil, release, go home, repeat.

Re: Possible Acting Nominees - 2011
What else did you see? Do you think that Glenn Close will even receive a nomination? Or is the film too dull to even begin to register? Sabin, I only saw two films at TIFF as I live in Toronto and was not really "doing" the Festival. Aside from Nobbs, I saw The Eye of the Storm , a terrif...

Re: 2011 Kennedy Center Honorees
Damien is right-on. Mickey Rooney is long, long overdue for a Kennedy Center Honor. Meryl Streep is 62 and with an active career they could have waited five years or more to honor her. There is a certain calculus that goes into selecting the five honorees each year...male-female mix, racial mix, and...
