Happy to see someone else recognise this lovely little performance. Romola Garai is turning into an absolutely terrific actress.

I haven’t sat through GoodFellas as a whole for quite some years, but I do occasionally catch it in bits and pieces. Parts of it I still find incredibly compelling – there’s a raw energy which I like, and the art direction, costumes and cinematography are terrific. I really like Ray Liotta and Lorr...

I'm always happy to see anyone recognise this great performance by a wonderful actress - but how can anyone justify placing it in support? Surely she's as much the film's focus as Mary McDonnell. Its like splitting Thelma from Louise.

I can just about swallow the placement of Jake as a supporting actor in Brokeback Mountain - but Naomi Watts?

Not only is it a lousy performance, but how in the world can anyone consider it supporting? I also believe that its a dreadful performance but, although I haven't seen the movie in years, I do recall Cruise disappears half way through until the end, with the story focusing on the Brad Pitt characte...

Well as usual it feels like more of the year’s supposedly quality releases haven’t reached me yet – so no Squid & the Whale, Goodnight and Good Luck, Capote, Walk the Line, Junebug, Syriana, Grizzly Man… we haven’t even seen some early US movies like The Upside of Anger yet. The New World and M...

I haven't seen Albertson, but he'd have a hard time beating Johnson's wonderous performance.

I plan to read the short story now that I've seen the film. Do, immediately. I tracked it down after reading a lovely comment by Penelope on here a while back, and its quite beautifully written. I, too, have been suffering from what seems like the internal bias of a gay person towards this film - b...
