Last night was the best episode so far. I was awed at how the effort to determine the age of the Earth transformed into a Hitchockian thriller about confronting corporate power.

I am curious to see if any of the remaining Cosmos episodes will deal with this.

I was very impressed with the first episode of the new COSMOS. Seth MacFarlane's influence showed in its fairly extensive use, at least for a science show, of animation, as in the scenes showing the persecution of Giordano Bruno. What impressed me the most was the editing and graphics, as when a black hole morphs into the pupil of an eye. Also, the end where Neil deGrasse Tyson mentions his visit to Carl Sagan when he was 17 was quite moving.

Fox is set to air an updated version of the 1980s Cosmos series that was hosted by Carl Sagan. This one will be hosted by astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBTd9--9VMI
