Cerveris is nominated...

I'm a bit surprised Lansbury isn't here either, but voters may think that if they nominate her she'll win again.

Not at all surprised to see the critically lambasted Elena Roger, as well as Ricky Martin and Michael Cerveris left off the Tony nominaitons. Ditto Matthew Broderick who got terribel reviews for Nice Work If You Can Get It.

I am surprised to see Angela Lansbury left off the list of supporting actress in a play nominees, especially since James Earl Jones, whose role in The Best Man is really supporting as well, managed to secure a Best Actor slot.

Leap of Faith was panned worse than Ghost so it's surprising to see that made it in Best Musical category. Too bad off-Broadway's Death Takes a Holiday, which has the year's best score, isn't eligible.

After all the advertising they did for the actress from Evita, I'm surprised not to see her on the lists. And are we at all surprised to see the Spider-Man musical shut out of the major categories?
