Figures.

After the amazing triumph of Arcade Fire we get this shitlist. At least Bon Iver is getting some attention.

And Skrillex!? He's hardly an artist. This guy needs to stick with producing. All he does is jump around while his iTunes playlist does all the work. Deadmau5 should prevail.

Overall, a crap year for mainstream music. The indie/underground scene was alright, but few and far between. Hopefully 2012 is better. It will be the last year before the apocolypse afterall.

The New Artist rules are vague and no one really understands them.

Bon Iver, making records for three years, were nominated by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for Best New Artist.

Those silly old coots.

The 2010-2011 Grammy Awards

The nominees have been announced.

I don't follow music all that closely so I have virtually no opinion on most of the nominees HOWEVER I am outraged that Kanye West (despite leading with 7 nods) did not get an Album of the Year nomination for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It's an exceptional piece of work and I'm neither a hip-hop fan nor even Kanye fan.
