A number of the kids won Emmy nods years ago for The Cosby Show.

True that. I've hope-dicting before myself a few times in predictions. Is there any precedent for a 12-year old finding a nomination? Especially considering that there are four other far more likely nominees from the same show in a pool with several acclaimed ensembles (Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office, and 30 Rock...basically an entire night of television!) that either have yet to find Academy favor or are perennial standby.

He's Luke Dunphy. He makes me laugh as much as Ty Burrell and Sofia Vergara on that show. He *deserves* a nomination. He most likely won't get it and he's at best a longshot at a nom so I'm hope-dicting, really.

For purposes of the Emmys, it's a miniseries.
How absurd. There's going to be a Season 2 soon. What about The Borgias.....is that in contention this year?
It is absurd, but it's the Emmys. Upstairs Downstairs competed in the Drama Series category way back when, so I think Downton Abbey should too. But Downton Abbey aired in a different format in the States than it did internationally--it was basically edited into four 90-minute episodes rather than seven 52-minute episodes. Seems like they pretty much only did that do get it into the miniseries category, because they probably didn't think they could get into the regular series categories, being on PBS. And The Borgias should be eligible. It was pretty much met with a giant "who cares" in the States though.

For starters scratch out Elizabeth McGovern and Mare Winningham.

Downton Abbey is a drama series....not a miniseries or tv film.
