Oppenheimer as expected, though the absence of Zone of Interest from the nominees leaves that race faintly alive.

The Color Purple had a lousy day but it's not like it was shortlisted for Best Sound so missing this isn't that big a surprise. Same with Poor Things.

The most notable omission is probably The Zone of Interest, a film whose sound design is largely praised as a character in the film. Napoleon is also a big miss.

Ferrari is a surprise. Also, Maestro had a good day, making the cut in two competitive categories, which would be the strength of its white elephant candidacy.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Dead One continues its franchise's losing streak.
