I joined this message board a year or two before I first started getting into music. But when I did, it was all 60's wonder boys, folk, rock, and all that. I am not looking forward to the wave of losing them that we're about to hit.
I think I first got into The Band in 2003, after my first college and well into my second one when boozy karaoke became a way of life. A night didn't go by without someone singing "The Weight." Robertson was so much more than that though. I loved his work with The Band and the unpretentious spirit of putting on a good show that he embodied. My favorite song is the The Last Waltz version of "Stage Fright" which is so anxious and celebratory.
