It’s starting to look like the right is starting an anti-Barbie campaign because, of course, it’s too woke. We are apparently entering a era where there are movies for the red folks (e.g., the QAnon-inspired Sound of Freedom, currently hauling in huge bucks at the box office) and movies for the rest of us. Anything that advances feminist ideas, celebrates diversity, portrays institutional racism, or has positively portrayed queer or trans characters will not make the cut for the Trumpers.
The Catholics used to have a “Legion of Decency” which would declare certain films to be “indecent,” mostly because of sexual content. It disappeared in the 70s. Now we have the woke police, with seemingly way more influence. How did we get here?

Re: Barbie reviews
Ryan Gosling seems like a good bet for a Best Supporting Actor nomination based on the reviews.

Box office projections are off the charts, and there's genuine critical enthusiasm (with some notable dissents).
