To most of my generation, Hawkins was a monster behind the kit, along with being an apparently genuinely good guy. I've been lukewarm on the Foos since the turn of the millennium but they're one of those bands who seemed destined to chug on like the Stones well into their 70s - they might yet do so (I know I would certainly like to attend an audition to replace Hawkins if it came to it). A shocking and tragic loss.
