I was playing it safe by predicting a win for Belfast as Best Drama. Didn't think they would go for The Power of the Dog. But I'm very happy it won.

Surprised Kidman won though.

I guess it's going to be Will Smith's year at the Oscars.

Will have to finally trudge through Drive My Car as it now appears to be a major player. The first 30 minutes were such a slog to sit through that I gave up.

I will accept Jefforey's Smith's entry since we have so little entries this year. Oh, well, anyway.

Only Reza predicted Belfast's Screenplay win earning him triple points. Only mlrg and myself (anonymous1980) predicted The Power of the Dog in Picture (him as a sole prediction and me as the runner-up), earning us double points. Here are the results:

Big Magilla = 18 points
Aceisgreat = 21 points
Mister Tee = 22 points
mlrg = 28 points
Sabin = 30 points
anonymous1989 = 31 points

...and we have a tie for the winners, each one earning 33 points:

Reza & Jefforey Smith!

Congratulations! (I guess?)

They say they'll announce them on their Twitter account as revealed. Also will post on their web site, though that may not be as quick.

It's a measure of how uncertain I am this year that, even knowing using alternates is not smart betting strategy, I'm doing it anyway, because I just can't decide. The combination of a lousy field, so many alleged crowd-pleasers bombing, Omicron striking at the worst possible moment, and the Globes spending the season in Coventry, leaves me utterly at sea on all but a few categories.

Nope. If they did, I doubt the recipient will show up.
