Actually, they had changed the name to 21st Century Fox, but I don't think anyone ever called it that.
I don't know whether Disney is officially reverting back to the more familiar 20th Century name or if the reporters got it wrong.
The business and most of its ts were part of the 20th, not the 21st, century so it would be entirely appropriate to use that name rather than change it every century, not that any of us are going to be around when the current century ends.

Re: Disney kills the Fox Name
It's not the "Fox" that needed changing in "20th Century Fox", for Pete's sake!
"What the hell?"

Disney kills the Fox Name
From Variety:
Say goodbye to 20th Century Fox (and Fox Searchlight, too). Disney, which purchased Fox last year, is killing off the Fox name and rebranding the respective companies as 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures. Insiders suspect the move is an attempt to distance the studios from Fox News, which was not part of Disney’s acquisition.
