Technically there were no nominees for screenwriting in Oscar's second year, but the Academy does list ten films that received votes for the writing prize in addition to the official writing winner, The Patriot.

Although there are eleven films listed, they were all attributed to five writers, some of whom wrote the story and scenario and some who wrote the adaptation. Elliott J. Clawson is mentioned for three different films; Tom Barry Hanns Kraly and Bess Meredyth are mentioned for three; Josephine Lovett is mentioned for just one. While not all the nominees are available, Except for Clawson, you should be able to find at least one from each of those listed. Barry's In Old Arizona and The Valaint; Kraly's The Last of Mrs. Cheyney; Lovett's Our Dancing Daughters and Meredyth's A Woman of Affairs are all either available on DVD or streaming and have been shown on TMC.
