My college roommate's aunt is NPR's Michele Norris who is very close to Gwen Ifill (who they all called "Aunt Gwen") so I've had several opportunities to be in her company throughout the years. She was always very kind to me and was just a very warm person. I got to name her signature salad at a Labor Day picnic once.
Her perspective and intelligence in a media filled with cue card readers and infotainment "personalities" will be sorely missed as we head into this dark Trump era.
