Pure's getting a release? Oh, happy days.
dws, did you see Hotel Rwanda? How does Sometimes in April compare?
And unglued is putting it mildly.

Since Tom O'Neil has come seriously and disturbingly unglued as of late, maybe it's time to put my Goldderby days behind me, and focus on bringing this board out of its post-Oscar lull.
I've now seen three 2005 films, and without having gone to a theater for even one of them. Two of them played in a few festivals before premiering on HBO; the other played in a few festivals in 2002/2003, aired on Sundance in 2004, and now will be distributed in limited released in May.
***½
1. Dope Sick Love (Brent and Craig Renaud)
2. Sometimes in April (Raoul Peck)
3. Pure (Gillies McKinnon)

Well, I have my first official four star entry so it's as good a time to launch this as any.
See. This. Film. Two three hour increments that go by like eighty minutes a piece. You have time for this one, people.

1. The Best of Youth

2. Constantine

Mysterious Skin has the potential to be his best film yet.
Thanks for the info. So the book is a good read? Hmm...I'll have to pick it up. I'd love to see Araki come out with a real solid movie. But I haven't heard any buzz on it yet.

Has anyone heard any buzz or release dates for "Mysterious Skin", the new Greg Araki film? It's supposed to show a lot of flesh, as his other movies have, and it stars Joseph Gordon-Leavitt. As a fan of gay trash films, I'm eagerly awaiting it.

Kung Fu Hustle was way too much over-the-top for me. Howl's Moving Castle was good, but it should have been better. Oldboy won the Grand Prix at Cannes last year, and it seems like a future cult classic. How good it is, is debatable, but I think a lot of people are going to like it.
