Since these awards seem to be solely about a certain kind of hype it's no wonder they went only after those Oscar winners who only had this kind of hype going for them to begin with. Indeed, having this particular Winslet's performance alongside Jolie's in Wanted makes more sense than the way the academy got it.

It's a pretty popular movie. Made over $200 million worldwide.

Don't put it past them, I know quite a few people my age and younger that caught it. It was a high-grossing film after all.

I'm going to guess that they are required to put the previous year's Oscar nominee in the list...b/c I really have a hard time imagining MTV viewers would actually vote for Slumdog Millionaire...
