Blu-ray players will play regular DVDs, but they aren't really cheap.
Best bet aside from Blue-ray is a region free player.
You can get a region free Toshiba for $89 or a Pioneeer (which is what I have) for $125 delivered in a couple of days from these guys:

My DVD player has died
Was going to show my mother Atonement, but the disc wouldn't feed into the player. Tried turning it off and on several times. Even tried using a different disc (Butterfield . Doesn't work.
So perhaps I should invest in a new player, and am thinking I should get a Blu-Ray player. I need guidance. I want something cheap, but I still want to watch regular DVDs. Is this possible?
