No, but at 44 you're probably the youngest.

I could not agree with you more on this, rudeboy. Lynn Redgrave's monologue in that film stopped me dead in my tracks. A genuinely superb performance.

Wow. Lots of 'Eternal Sunshine' bashing. No idea how this came to be.

I just watched 'Before Sunset' again for the third time or so. I can't imagine another time where my two favorite films complimented each other so perfectly. Both films are neurotic in their romantic isolationism and androcentric conceits of romantic fulfillment. In watching 'Before Sunset' again, my head absolutely spins trying to make sense of the narrative because I know! that Jesse and Celine's shifts in conversation is tantamount to a complex narrative, their discourses are building, deepening, with something very powerful to say about the nature of relationships but so effortlessly and organically that I'm often caught off guard. It's a beautiful film and the best that Linklater has done.

Yes, but I'm unhappy with it - looks odd to me, can't teach an old dog new tricks I guess. I'm in the process of reinstating my tried and true winners based on N.Y. or L.A. release date, whichever came first.

And Bill Condon still couldn't manage a director nod. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Besides Neeson, there was also Giamatti who was also snubbed. If i remember well Giamatti's snub was an even bigger surprise.
And we can also see the results of the category confusion. Laura Linney's performance in Kinsey got 4 votes in the Leading Actress category and 9 votes in the Supporting Actress category. As a result she is tied in the last place of the Supporting Actress category, and almost failed to be nominated at all.

Good work, Cinemanolis, and a good read. I'm happy Million Dollar Baby held Eternal Sunshine off the top spot for best picture, and that we had the good taste to reward Neeson, one of the most baffling oscar snubs of recent times.
