It bodes well for his forthcoming collection of covers from the 80's.

I saw Letterman tonight and even he was poking fun at the fact that he lost to Barry freakin' Manilow.

Could this not have also been a reaction to Manilow's unexpected success with his last CD release?

I didn't know those stats, anonymous, but I said to my wife as they were about to announce the winner that they always seem to pick the worst possibility in this category -- which of course was Manilow.

I regretted that Colbert isn't on this week, as I assumed he would do a diatribe on the matter, and was delighted he and Jon threw it into the show -- perhaps the funniest moment of the evening.

I'm not too surprised.

In the past 10 years, 9 out of the last 10 performers that have won in this category, won for specials and they frequently favor singers over comedians. The only person in the last ten years to have won for a series is Wayne Brady for Whose Line Is It Anyway?

What a jackass. THE MUSIC'S PLAYING FOR A REASON, STUPID!

At least Stephen Colbert has something to rip on for weeks now.
