Thank you Sabin. I knew you wouldn't be far from this board for too long :-)
Do you finally have msn now?

I'm back to Italy, by the way. But I miss the Middle East already - its confusion, its emotions, its dangers even. An unforgettable - though unusual and sometimes difficult - summer.

Well thank God for mere tension.

A belated happy birthday to you both.

Well... I just had to see some friends of mine... No bombs now - thank god - but the tension is still here, obviously...

Thank you - or, as they say here, shoukran... Am in scarred, unrecognizable Beirut now - maybe for the last time in my life. So sad to see a place you've loved so much in such a situation: a once proud city now humiliated, once lively now so silent - and on the verge of a possibly even bigger disaster.

God bless the two of you, on your birthday and always.

Thank you guys... A big collective hug from hot (in many, many ways) Damascus - where the only "big" movie opening in the only western-oriented cinema is "Firewall" with Harrison Ford... No wonder they hate us so much!
