I mean, a lot of people really responded to it, obviously. Sabin and I both commented on the toxic fandom during the early release. During top ten season, Daniel Kwan actually took to social media to chastise adherents of the film for insulting those who didn't rank the film in their top ten.

Not sure it deserved any of its wins on merit, but I was okay with its wins for Best Picture, Director, Actress, Supporting Actor, and Editing. Supporting Actress and Original Screenplay I was not. Both should have gone to The Banshees of Inisherin.

Very happy for you. That’s a wonderful feeling…. I’ve heard.

I was emotional for the three acting winners from the film, but indifferent to the rest of its wins. I finally ranked it into the 93 Best Picture winners I've seen (still missing CODA and Nomadland), and it ranks 63. Solid middle ground territory, but also not an all time great.

I agree with Daniel. I’ll also say it’s kind of nice to see a film win more than a couple awards. When CODA wins three and Dune wins the rest, it almost feels like they’re dividing their affection. This year they’re saying “Nope, we liked this one.” Wish I shared their enthusiasm but it’s nice to see.

Congratulations!

Will you meet the rest of us halfway and at least agree that the musical number did the film no favors?

Yeah, where I expect to land. I feel grumpier about it now, though.
