Toronto Line-up
Re: Toronto Line-up
Definitely looking forward to the new Terence Davies film, although like most of his films, I suspect it will take some time before it is released in the US. (Davies turned into one of my very favorite filmmakers over quarantine.) A lot of his films have played festivals and then gone into general release the next year, and I'm not aware of it being picked up by any distributor yet.

I’m not sure I see a Best Picture winner here.
But I remain beyond excited for The Worst Person in The World.

I am looking forward to Belfast and I wasn't as put off by the trailer for Dear Evan Hansen as most seem to be. Other than that, I agree this is not very impressive.
I am a little more psyched by the Venice hopefuls posted here:

There will presumably be some films added but this, the initial slate, is...um...unimpressive. Uncertainty about whether films will be streamed or exhibited might have bigger studios holding back. Or -- just go with me here -- maybe those of us who said COVID would lead to a second straight paltry roster in 2021 are being proven correct?
