Wow, talk about obscure. Even TV Guide doesn't indicate who who might have interviewed.

The F. Lee Bailey show, called Good Company, wasn't literally a new version of Person to Person but rather was more or less a copy of it.

From TV Guide.com:

F. Lee Bailey interviewed celebrities in their homes in a 1967 format that was similar to Edward R. Murrow's popular `Person to Person.' Said executive producer David Susskind of the then-34-year-old legal wunderkind, Bailey: `He's brilliant, he's articulate, he's sexy, he's a natural for television.' The series lasted less than four months.

In order for a show like that to click it would have to have a fixed time slot where audiences can find it. "The broadcast will kick off Feb. 8, 2012 at 8 p.m. ET and will air occasionally after its debut." doesn't sound like it's being given much of a shot.

I don't recall an attempt to revivie the show with F. Lee Bailey in the 1960s. The IMBd. doesn't reference it. Wikipedia and tv.com don't mention it. The original ran from 1953-1961 and was hosted by Murrow until 1959 when Charles Collingwood took over. Bailey was all over TV in the 60s but I can't imagine many celebrities inviting him into their home unless they needed a defense attorney for a murder charge. Charlie Rose is a much less intrusive personality. But Lara Logan? Is this really the type of show to try out an untested host whose background is as a foreign correspondent? Granted that was Murrow's background as well, but he was an already proven commodity and trusted name by the time the original aired. Didn't they learn anything from ABC's Christiane Amanppour fiasco? In case you missed, they are dumping her from This Week and bringing George Stephanopolous back. She's returning to her former job as foreign correspeondent for CNN.

Charlie Rose must have the goods on somebody. He's an ill-informed moron and yet he get gig after gig on CBS and PBS.

There was an attempt to re-do Person To Person in the late 60s with lawyer F. Lee Bailey. I don't think it lasted more than half a season.

CBS News

CBS will revive its classic "Person to Person" series in 2012 with Charlie Rose and Lara Logan as co-hosts. The broadcast, based on the interview series created by Edward R. Murrow, will kick off Feb. 8, 2012 at 8 p.m. ET and will air occasionally after its debut.

The updated version of "Person to Person" will feature many elements of the original series, which ran from 1953 to 1961. Co-hosts Rose of and Logan will bring viewers into the private homes of public people, ranging from musical artists, actors, directors, political leaders and newsmakers. Guests will introduce friends and family members and show off items of personal or professional significance.

Interview subjects will be announced closer to the first broadcast of 2012.

When the show first debuted in 1953, Murrow broke ground by going into the homes of celebrities and politicians alike, including John and Jacqueline Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Harry Truman and Fidel Castro.

Rose will also be the new co-host of "CBS This Morning," beginning in January. Lara Logan is CBS News' Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent.

The show's executive producers are Susan Zirinsky, who is also the executive producer of "48 Hours Mystery," and Judy Tygard, who serves as senior producer on "48 Hours Mystery."
