I just need Warrior and My Week with Marilyn to finish off the acting nominees.

I was surprised to see that four theaters here in Milwaukee are playing Albert Nobbs including the one at the mall. I opted for A Dangerous Method instead but eventually I'll see Nobbs. I was really disappointed to find out that one of my local arthouse theaters opted to hang on to The Descendents for another week, despite having a poster for Shame saying coming today.

Actually, this was a really entertaining movie. I was surprised at the nomination, but when I first saw it I did think it could get a tech nod or two.

You're still in DC, right? Where is this even playing?
I would assume when it comes to DC it will play at E Street.

This weekend I will probably go see PARIAH. It got good reviews and a shout-out from Meryl Streep, plus I like giving my money to well made queer cinema. Many of the Oscar films I will eventually see, but I refuse to pay for them.

It's only finally arriving in NY Friday. The distributor apparently decided without an Oscar prod no one would ever go to see it. I don't know how wide a release it'll ever get.

Always wondered what the point of this thread was. This year is no different.
