...but I could just as easily see them picking Giamatti or Spacey, sometimes when there isn't an Oscar candidate they go classier (like Farrell for In Bruges) but sometimes blockbuster-y (like Downey, Jr. for Sherlock)...Depp's double dip is hard to pick against, but Gyllenhaal also seems like the kind of star the Globes would like...who knows!

I guess it says something: 5 1/2 hours till showtime, and no one's ventured guesses. I'll lead off. As I recall, the format is, one choice and one alternate, should we want to total points afterward.

I'm going on the premise the Globes will enliven the season for the sheer hell of it. If I'm wrong, the contest for most should come down to actor in musical/comedy.
