LMAO!!!! Twilight: New Moon even pushed Anna Kendrick over the edge for Up in the Air.

I had to look it up on Wikipedia, but apparently Rain is the star of Ninja Assassin.

Somehow Angelina Jolie's nominated bad-ass performance is for Salt, a movie which has not come out yet. How did that happen?

What stands out to me the most is the almost complete shut-out of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It seems like the sort of movie these MTV people would eat up. Apparently not. It only managed one nomination for Best WTF Moment. It's funny, WTF is exactly what I was thinking when I watched about 15 minutes of the damn thing.

There's also Avatar for Best Picture and Christoph Waltz.

It used to. If you check the nominees of the earlier years, most of the nominees were pretty decent, even great. Right now, I don't know. Have kids become dumber?

I've often wondered how "proud" these people are to be nominated here. I mean does the Dear John guy really think he gave one of the five best male performances of the last year?

And who or what is Rain - an apparent Badass of the Year nominee?

Good lord -- didn't even the MTV Awards used to faintly overlap with decent movies? This is like a line-up you'd get if you polled a suburban high school homeroom.

Of course, one overlap with the Oscars: the brilliant Sandra Bullock. (Sorry, dws -- couldn't resist whacking that horse one more time)
