Oh and it'd be interesting to see how they're gonna perform this at the Oscars. You can't do this number without a group of kid dancers jumping around onstage in the Max wolf costume.
I despised that movie, and the awful song pretty much summarizes the film. But happy listening! :p

Over the last few days I watched all the eligible contenders which are available on You Tube (about 4/5ths of them). A pretty sorry bunch.

And who would have known that the Theme from Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay! was sung by To Sir, With Love's Lulu?

The single best song was "Through The Trees" from Jennifer's Body by Ryan Levine. Just a great, infectious and moving pop-rock song.

The other four I would nominate are

"Possibility" from Twilight: New Moon. Don't know who did the lyrics, but the music is by Alexandre Desplat, and it's sung by Lykke Li. It's mesmerizing.

"One Day" from Post-Grad, by Jack Savoretti, which has a nice early 70s singer-songwriter aura.

"Smoke Without Fire" from An Education which has a wonderful 60s pop feel to it (although I have no recollection of it from the movie.

and "Dove of Peace" from Bruno -- a witty, clever song and a perfect number for the movie.
