These could change, since I still have a handful of films to see from the year. Not listing Documentary or Foreign until I see more titles.

BEST PICTURE

Inception
Shutter Island
The Social Network
Toy Story 3
True Grit

BEST DIRECTOR

Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan
Joel and Ethan Coen, True Grit
David Fincher, The Social Network
Christopher Nolan, Inception
Martin Scorsese, Shutter Island

-The Coen Brothers picked up nods in 1996 for Fargo (Joel only) and 2007 for No Country for Old Men. Fincher was up for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button two years ago. Scorsese won in 1990 for GoodFellas. Nolan, after a nod here in 2008 for The Dark Knight, wins. Aronofsky is a first-timer for Criddic.

BEST ACTOR

Jeff Bridges, True Grit
Leonardo DiCaprio, Shutter Island
Jesse Eisenberg, The Social Network
Colin Firth, The King's Speech
James Franco, 127 Hours

- Bridges won last year, as he did at Oscars. DiCaprio is a two time winner (What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, 1993; Titanic, 1997) on his sixth nomination. Eisenberg is on his first. Firth was up last year, too. Logic would dictate he wins, but I liked Franco in 127 Hours. Franco did manage a mention for Milk in support in 2008.

BEST ACTRESS

Annette Bening, Mother & Child
Jennifer Lawrence, Winter's Bone
Chloe Grace Moretz, Let Me In
Natalie Portman, Black Swan
Hailee Steinfeld, True Grit

- aww, Annette Bening on her 7th nomination. She keeps getting over-taken by strong competition. In this case, all of her opponents were much younger. Don't feel too bad for her, though...I nominated Tom Hanks 6 times without giving him a win. Anyway, Natalie Portman clearly was the winner.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR

Christian Bale, The Fighter
Andrew Garfield, The Social Network
Bill Murray, Get Low
Jeremy Renner, The Town
Geoffrey Rush, The King's Speech

- Surprisingly, this is only Rush's 2nd time at bat. His first was 1998's Shakespeare in Love. Renner was up for lead last year. Bale achieves his first after many close-calls (including possible mentions for The Prestige and American Psycho). But Garfield, as the conscience of The Social Network, wins.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Amy Adams, The Fighter
Melissa Leo, The Fighter
Chloe Grace Moretz, Kick-Ass
Naomi Watts, Mother & Child
Jacki Weaver, Animal Kingdom

- Adams on her third after Enchanted (lead 2007) and Doubt (2008). Leo on her 2nd after Frozen River (2008). Watts also her 2nd after Mulholland Drive (2001). Weaver debuts, as does winner Moretz. She was the surprise of the year, in my opinion.

BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY

City Island
The Fighter
Inception
The King's Speech
Mother

BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY

Shutter Island
The Social Network
The Town
Toy Story 3
True Grit

BEST ANIMATED FILM

How to Train Your Dragon
Tangled
Toy Story 3

BEST ART DIRECTION

Alice in Wonderland
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I
Inception
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
True Grit

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY

Black Swan
Inception
Shutter Island
The Social Network
True Grit

- Roger Deakins wins his third Criddic Award, after Fargo and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

BEST COSTUME DESIGN

Alice in Wonderland
I Am Love
The King's Speech
Shutter Island
True Grit

BEST FILM EDITING

Black Swan
Inception
127 Hours
The Social Network
True Grit

BEST MAKEUP

Alice in Wonderland
Black Swan
The Wolfman

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE

How to Train Your Dragon
Inception
Never Let Me Go
The Social Network
TRON Legacy

BEST ORIGINAL SONG

"There's a Place for Us" from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
"Coming Home" from Country Strong
"Sticks & Stones" from How to Train Your Dragon
"If I Rise" from 127 Hours
"We Belong Together" from Toy Story 3

BEST SOUND EDITING

Inception
Toy Story 3
TRON Legacy
True Grit
Unstoppable

BEST SOUND MIXING

Inception
Salt
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
The Social Network
True Grit

BEST VISUAL EFFECTS

Inception
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I
TRON: Legacy

TALLY (so far):

True Grit: 11 noms/1 win
Inception: 10 noms/8 wins
The Social Network: 9 noms/2 wins
Shutter Island: 6 noms/0 wins
Toy Story 3: 5 noms/2 wins
Black Swan: 5 noms/1 win
