Re: 2012-2013 Emmy Awards

Would've been nice to see some nominations for Hannibal, which is one of the strangest, most fascinating network shows I've ever seen. Even the design categories snubbed it, and I don't think there was a better photographed or art-directed show on TV last year.

I haven't watched season two of Girls (plan to soon), but I do like that Adam Driver was nominated. I gave up on Mad Men during season four, but I am glad to see Linda Cardellini finally nominated for something all these years after Freaks and Geeks.

Jennifer Carpenter had a spectacular season Dexter and Kiernan Shipka was left off Best Supporting Actress for Mad Men. I'd start complaining there.

The nominees have been announced.

A strong group, I must say. I'm ECSTATIC that Jon Cryer is out of the Lead Actor in a Comedy race.

I know it is a cop out because I don't in fact know where I'd replace someone...but if Robin Wright is left off Best Actress I'll be as dumbfounded and blindsided as with Patinkin last year at this time. That being, in my opinion what should be the runaway winner not even existing on the slate. In my opinion just like last year where I felt Danes and Lewis were excellent, yet Patinkin was master class...Spacey is magnificent and fun, but Wright is revelatory.

They should amend the Patinkin snub this year, and likely ideally award him as well...but another season and another deservedly really hard to defeat Jesse Pinkman will definitely be right beside him...waiting to scoop up his final two Emmys.

I don't watch a lot of television these days, but New Girl has to rank as one of the best edited comedy shows I've ever seen. Unbelievably inspired editing. And the "Cooler" episode (also pretty brilliantly directed by Max Winkler) is the best edited episode I've seen from them.
