I hope this terrible news won't become a potencial movie in a decade or so.

I assume psychological tests will be more meticulous and harder for new pilots from now on.

Why wasn't a flight attendant brought into the cockpit when the pilot went to the restroom?

I was surprised too - but it seems that that isn't required by the German aviation laws.
Yes, but expect that to change. Three airlines including airlines from Canada and the Netherlands, have since Luftanza's news conference this morning, announced that this rule will now be imposed.

I am sure that several airlines will change that now.

This is an unfolding horror story. Now that we know that it was suicide/murder by the 28-year-old co-pilot, reverberations will be felt throughout the worldwide aviation industry.

So many questions, of which the most obvious are:

Why did he do what he did? Was it planned or spontaneous?

Why wasn't a flight attendant brought into the cockpit when the pilot went to the restroom?

What's happened today is terrible. All those countless mourning families... Terrible. Human defencelessness goes beyond all assimilation.
