Since 1938, excluding shorts, documentaries and foreign, the year with the least nominated films is 1981 (Chariots of Fire) with 21 films and the highest is 1941 (How Green was my Valley) with 66 films.

I haven’t listed the years prior to 1938 yet

Academy Awards Ceremonies - A Trivia Regarding the Number of Nominated Films

Post by HarryGoldfarb »

Maybe this is common knowledge for some of you, but I'd like to know:
1. What was the ceremony with the largest number of nominated films (including foreign films and shorts)? How many films do you have to watch in order to see all the nominated films fromt hat year?
2. What was the ceremony with the lowest number of nominated films (including foreign films and shorts)? How many films do you have to watch in order to see all the nominated films fromt hat year? Was it the first ceremony?
