R.I.P. Ian Holm

Whether they are behind the camera or in front of it, this is the place to discuss all filmmakers regardless of their role in the filmmaking process.

First saw him in The Fixer, when I was 16 years old. What a extraordinary career -- The Homecoming, Chariots of Fire, Henry V, The Sweet Hereafter...plus so many populist films, from Alien through the Rings movies. Superb actor.

Personal favorite: his touchingly pathetic Dodgson in Dreamchild.

Just watched him in 1971's Mary, Queen of Scots, which I forgot he was in. I also forgot that Penelope Wilton's other ex-husband, Daniel Massey, was also in it.
