Whether they are behind the camera or in front of it, this is the place to discuss all filmmakers regardless of their role in the filmmaking process.

Really, Reza?

I never heard of "Patricia Swift" and neither, I suspect, did anyone else here. She was known professionally as Patricia Benoit and the only role for which she is remembered is that of Wally Cox's girlfriend on the TV series Mr. Peepers from 1952-1954. This is the most obscure obituary of anyone I've seen posted here yet.

Actress PATRICIA SWIFT dies (NY Times, 8/12/2018)

Patricia Benoit Swift, age 91, died peacefully in her sleep at home on August 6, 2018.

In 1946, Patricia Benoit, at age 19, came to New York City from Fort Worth, Texas to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. For three years following her graduation, she acted in summer stock and Off-Broadway productions. Her first appearance on Broadway was in "Glad Tidings," starring Melvin Douglas. She later appeared in "Middle of the Night," starring Edward G. Robinson, "Time Limit," with Arthur Kennedy and Richard Kiley, "The Brass Ring" and a number of other productions. During those years, she also acted on television, including roles in the early days of live television, such as on the Philco- Goodyear Television Playhouse, Robert Montgomery Presents, The Alcoa Hour and others. Her most notable TV role was as Nancy Remington, the sweetheart and wife of Wally Cox's character on "Mr. Peepers" for the entire run of the show. Along the way, she had roles in two soap operas, "As the World Turns" and "Today is Ours," in which she played the leading character. Patricia moved to Croton-on-Hudson, NY, in 1961 and from 1964 she focused on raising her children, living in Croton for 20 years before moving to Port Chester, NY, where she and her husband lived in their retirement. She was a regular matinee theater goer, fifth row center, for many years. She loved seeing actors she had known - doing the work they loved.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Parton Swift Jr. and is survived by their two sons, Jeremy B. Swift (and wife, Princess) and Nicholas B. Swift (and wife, Lori); three grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael (and wife, Allison) and Melissa; two step-granddaughters, Vidya and Niesha; one great grandchild, Ella; and her sister, Doris B. Wright of Rochester, NY, and her sister's two sons Andrew L. Wright (and wife, Carolyn Ott) and David R. Wright (and wife, Pamela), and her grandchildren, Dustin and Ashley.
